Image: The Singing Chef in full flow
Last week a number of us has the good fortune to enjoy an evening with the 'Singing Chef', otherwise known as Raymond Crooks, who 'entertained' us over the evening with songs, episodes from his life, including how he found God, and an exposition on how to make a 100% hard base Pavlova (if I remember correctly). He also threw in the odd joke or two, usually at the expense of the audience, but I don't think we minded.
We also raised some £400 - odd (I think) for the Building Fund, so the evening was a success on a number of fronts
Here you can see a little of the fashion which was on display on Friday 13th November - no superstition there then! In particular, three of the (considerably) younger models were from our own congregation and should be congratulated on the great job they did, especially modelling the wedding dresses. I couldn't help wondering if one of them was rehearsing for something! (Our young models were Claire Wallace, Rebekah McKinley and Jess Leathem)

Image: A view of the Mandate stage from the gods (no pun intended)
On Saturday 14th November, a group of 10 men from Carrickfergus Methodist Church went to the Waterfront in Belfast to take part in The Mandate, the biggest Christian Men's Conference in Ireland, probably the British Isles, and possibly Europe. The speaker was Jeff Lucas, who was both entertaining and thought provoking, and he was ably assisted by Steve Murray, a mime artist, with the worship being led by Woodlands Presbyterian Church musicians, also from Carrickfergus.
